We’re in the middle of a huge heat wave here in North Carolina. It’s HOT!
When it gets hot like this, I often think about the men and women who earn their living outside working in this heat. Whew!
I love doing random acts of kindness with my kids. I see a lot of random acts of kindness around Christmas time, but what about the rest of the year?
Thinking about this inspired me to think of something nice to do for the garbage pick-up guys that faithfully pick up our trash every week.
What’s better than an ice-cold ice pop on a hot summer day?
Their job isn’t glamorous and it isn’t in an air-conditioned corner office. How many customers offer thanks to them for the work they do?
I really hope this blesses them!
Added bonus?
Since this recipe is all-natural, there are tons of great vitamins such as vitamin c, manganese, copper, b vitamins, folate, fiber, calcium, and potassium.
Winning!
This ice pop recipe calls for just 4 ingredients
I knew I wanted to create something tropical flavored.
Something that tasted like an all-inclusive beach vacation. White sandy beaches and turquoise water… Sigh.
The best part about this recipe is not only how delicious it tastes, but also the simple ingredients.
The ingredients in this ice pop are: pineapple, orange juice, ice, and water. I know! So simple, right?!
Let’s get started!
First, juice your orange. I got out about 1/3 cup of orange juice out of this orange.
Pro tip! Microwave your orange a few seconds and then roll it on the counter before you start juicing it. This will help the juice come out easier.
You could also use plain ole orange juice you have in your fridge if you don’t want to go to the trouble of juicing your own orange.
Next, dice up your pineapple. You can also buy one that’s been pre-chopped at the grocery store to save a little time.
Next combine your pineapple, OJ, ice and 1/3 cup of water in your blender. Blend til smooth. Mmmm, smells good.
Go ahead and grab a spoon and have a taste.
You could just stop here and drink it all up. Seriously good.
Using a funnel, pour your mixture into popsicle molds. I like to use these silicone ones.
But since we are giving these away, I’m using these disposable ones called Zipzicle.
Tip: Be sure to write the contents/date on your ice pop before you fill it.
‘Learned this the hard way! Haha!
Freeze about 2-3 hours or until solid. Enjoy!

We just started making our own popsicles and we love it. This week has been orange and mango. Haven't tried them yet, but will have to try your recipe above.
