For all of you busy moms, here’s a quick list of our top picks!

Prices pulled from the Amazon Product Advertising API on:

1. Baby Einstein Neptune’s Ocean Discovery Jumper

The Baby Einstein Neptune’s Ocean Discovery Jumper is hands-down one of the most adorable models.

It’s decorated with cute illustrations of ocean creatures such as starfish, octopuses, and crabs.

I could be a little partial though, since my youngest always had a thing for oceans, so I’ll always have a soft spot for underwater themes.

This jumper can be adjusted to four different height settings and the range is pretty big, so this model will definitely grow with your baby.

Plus, you can use it for a longer period of time.

The seat can rotate in any direction, so your baby can play with a variety of interesting toys.

For example, there are different flashcards with pictures of the ocean.

Every parent hopes that their child grows up to know a foreign language or two, and this baby jumper will help you kickstart that process!

How?

The adorable sea turtle’s shell contains the numbers 1, 2, and 3.

When your baby presses on any of the numbers, he will hear how the number sounds in three different languages – English, French, and Spanish.

This Baby Einstein also comes with additional link loops, so if your baby gets bored with the old toys, you can always add new ones and make the jumper exciting again!

And even if your baby makes a mess, you can always just remove the seat pad and throw it in the washing machine for quick cleaning.

On the more practical side, your baby shouldn’t be taller than 30 inches for this activity center.

In addition, he or she should be able to hold themselves up on their own and shouldn’t weigh more than 25 pounds.

2. Fisher-Price Color Climbers Jumperoo

The Fisher-Price Jumperoo makes for a really great baby shower gift! It needs batteries to run (3 AA) but they are included in your order so you’re all ready to go when it arrives in the mail.

Unfortunately, it only has 3 height settings, but I wouldn’t consider this a dealbreaker.

If your baby is a little shorter, you can always add a little cushion for extra height.

On the plus side, the seat pad is okay to wash in the washing machine!

You can also remove the individual toys to clean them.

There’s no doubt that your baby will be fully entertained in this colorful jumper.

There is a “floating” toucan and butterfly your baby can grab at.

This model also takes into consideration the baby’s growth stages – there is even a teether included in the form of an adorable orange frog.

Babies are huge fans of shiny lights and bright sounds, and this bouncer comes with different music and lights to help your baby develop their sensory skills.

The 360-degree rotating seat will allow your baby to spin around as much as they want and build those little leg muscles.

One of my favorite things about this bouncer is the color scheme.

Unlike a lot of other baby gear, the combination of colors is not an eyesore but it’s still interesting enough for babies to enjoy, so it’s a win-win situation.

3. Evenflo Exersaucer Bounce & Learn, Zoo Friends

The Evenflo Exersaucer Bounce & Learn is a zoo-themed baby bouncer that definitely looks like a traditional piece of baby gear.

But it’s also affordable and, let’s be real, not every parent wants a flashy baby jumper.

This one comes with toy monkeys and lions (it is zoo-themed, after all) that your baby will definitely enjoy.

If your little one gets bored with the attached toys, there are little toy trays you can use to place new ones for her to play with.

On the downside, it doesn’t play music (which is often more trouble than it’s worth anyway), so music is definitely not a necessity in my book! And this means that you don’t need batteries either.

There are three height settings so your little one can continue using the bouncer as they grow.

But once your baby gets 30 inches tall, it’s probably best to tell the Exersaucer goodbye.

At this point, the baby could even crawl their way out of the bouncer and seriously hurt themselves, so it’s best to avoid using it once the baby gets too tall.

The seat pad is machine washable, but it’s not very thick since it’s only made out of fabric and your baby might not find it very comfy.

4. Fisher-Price 3-in-1 Sit-to-Stand Activity Center

The Fisher-Price 3-in-1 Sit-to-Stand Activity Center is a great choice if you’re looking for a long term piece of baby gear that your child can use for several years and not just a few months.

It comes with a colorful play mat decorated with friendly animal illustrations for when your baby is a newborn and wants to play on their tummy.

Once your little one can sit and hold their head up, you can place them in the seat and let them spin around and explore the toys on their own.

The three-level height adjustment will accommodate your growing baby’s needs.

The super cute toys include bees, flowers, elephants, lions, and zebras.

But I love the portable alligator toy that you can actually take out.

Your little one can press the keys to play different sounds and beloved children’s songs like “Happy And You Know It.”

The legs are removable for easy storage or transportation, which is great if you’re planning on moving or donating the activity table to someone else.

It doesn’t take up a lot of floor space either, so it’s a good idea if you’re short on room.

On the downside, the seat is not bouncy and won’t have your baby jumping around, but the activity station still has all the great qualities of a regular bouncer, such as the interactive toys the seat that swivels.

And if I was specifically looking for something that will develop my baby’s muscles without all the jumping, this would be my go-to.

5. Baby Einstein Journey of Discovery Jumper

Take your kiddo out on a voyage to explore everything the world has to offer from the comfort of his very own Baby Einstein Journey of Discovery jumper!

This action-packed baby jumper features a bouncy seat that can rotate the whole 360° around itself so the child can have easy access to all the bits and bobs attached to the jumper without having to strain himself and throw a tantrum.

It’s not only filled with all sorts of fun activities in the shapes of neatly themed travel toys, but the spinning globe plays music inspired by nations from around the world on top of the standard interactables that all of the best baby jumpers have to keep your child engaged.

It even grows with your baby thanks to the 4 adjustable height positions!

That’s not all either as the process of cleaning is a lot easier than normal given how easy it is to clean by just using a damp cloth and no cleaning agents. The seat itself can be removed and the cover is fully machine washable too.

6. Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo

Now, I don’t know who works in the design department of Fisher-Price, but they have some of the best baby jumper designs out there!

The Rainforest Jumperoo is designed with soft mint green colors and pops of red and yellow, without looking overly “plastic-y” either.

This stationary jumper also comes with floating toys your baby can grab and develop their motor skills.

The seat is made to look like a red frog.

There are music and lights as well for the full sensory experience (which is why it needs batteries).

In my opinion, though, this jumper looks like it would be super fun for any child even without the lights and sounds.

There are 3 adjustable height levels but the maximum height that’s allowed is 32 inches.

This jumper also has great portability – you can quickly fold it or take it apart.

Another really cool thing about this jumper is the motion sensor feature, so every time your baby jumps, lights and music come on, encouraging them to jump more.

7. Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud Baby’s View 3-Stage Interactive Activity Center

The Skip Hop model is a very customizable activity station that has a lot in common with the Fisher-Price Activity Center.

Even though it’s not appropriate for newborns, babies as young as 4 months can use the Skip Hop to play, bounce, and develop their motor skills.

Parents can customize the toy station as much as they want since the toys are attached with special clips.

There is also a “discovery window” or hole through which the baby can see their feet as they bounce, which teaches them how to be aware of their surroundings.

The rotating seat expands while the baby jumps which makes it more comfortable.

I also really like the electric piano that you can place on the bouncing platform in front of your baby’s feet or on the station itself where the baby can reach it with their hands.

When they press a key, the toy piano plays different songs for children.

The bouncing platform can be adjusted depending on the baby’s height.

And when your little one completely outgrows the seat, the Skip Hop model can still be used during playtime as a toddler table.

Unfortunately, the activity center is not foldable so storage might be a bit of a challenge.

Overall, though, this is a great investment and can become a permanent setup in your child’s bedroom in the years to come.

8. Baby Einstein Neighborhood Friends Activity Jumper

The Neighborhood Friends Activity Jumper by Baby Einstein is so colorful, you just can’t ignore it!

One of its great features is the 5-level height adjustment so it’s more customizable in that department than some of the other baby jumpers.

Music is a big part of this Baby Einstein jumper and it has over 12 activities that incorporate music and sound.

For example, there is a piano that lights up.

And like the Neptune’s Ocean Discovery Jumper at the top of my list, the Neighborhood Friends Activity model comes with activities that can teach your baby some words in French, English, or Spanish.

Spinner toys are also included, along with toys that bob up and down.

But you can also add some of your own!

And, of course, the seat swivels in all directions so your active baby gets to have fun with all of the toys.

9. Minnie Mouse PeekABoo Activity Jumper

One of the best things about Disney cartoons and characters is that there’s hardly any child (or adult) out there who doesn’t like them or, at the very least, have a soft spot for them.

Minnie Mouse is an especially beloved Disney character, especially among girls.

This PeekABoo Jumper was designed with Minnie Mouse in mind – it’s pink and even has floating toys with her character on them.

This jumper also comes with music and lights that activate when the baby jumps, which is definitely going to keep your little one entertained for a long time!

One of the sweetest things about babies is their love for mirrors.

They’re fascinated with human faces, so putting them in front of a mirror entertains them to no end!

The Minnie Mouse jumper also incorporates a mirror as a heart-shaped toy for your baby to enjoy.

But no need to worry, it’s not an actual mirror your baby could break, but a self-reflecting sticker.

10. Evenflo ExerSaucer Jump and Learn Jumper

The Evenflo ExerSaucer comes with a total of 58 activities that will help your baby grow, learn, develop, and play in the healthiest way possible.

I really like the job they did with the design of the toys, with a floating plush monkey and a lion with a flower instead of a mane. Too cute!

The height can be adjusted in only three different ways, though, so that leaves some room for improvement.

And then there’s the fact that it’s on the larger end of the spectrum and takes up quite a bit of room.

But the seat pad spins in all directions so your little one can enjoy all the numerous ways of playing and having fun in this jumper.

11. Jolly Jumper

Not all baby jumpers look like baby walkers though!

Some of the most popular baby jumpers are, in fact, freestanding.

This means that the baby’s seat is attached to a portable stand which allows them to jump up and move around.

Another big difference is that there are usually no toys – this type of freestanding bouncer doesn’t look like a piece of baby gear.

The Jolly Jumper model consists of a portable frame you can place anywhere – indoors or outdoors.

So if it’s a lovely day and your house has a garden, you can take the rest of the family outside for a picnic and place your baby in the Jolly Jumper to have some fun as well.

Your baby can get into one of these as young as three months (or whenever they learn how to hold their neck up) and it’s suitable for babies up to 28 pounds.

The saddle seat is specifically created to support your baby in the best way possible, especially their developing spine.

Unless you live in a mansion (I know I don’t), you probably don’t want this type of jumper to be set up at all hours of the day.

It gets in the way and it’s nothing special to look at.

Luckily, the Jolly Jumper folds into a completely flat position so you can just pop it in the garage or storage closet.

It’s super light too, only 11 pounds and some change, so you’ll have no problems carrying it around.

12. Graco Doorway Bumper Jumper

The Graco Doorway Jumper is similar to a freestanding jumper, except you need to attach it to your door frame.

It comes with a clamp that you fix to the door frame while in use.

When your little one has finished their jumping session, you can just remove it and the clamp won’t leave a mark.

This door jumper also comes with a tray for your baby’s toys and the model comes with two hanging toys your baby can try and grab.

Like with stationary jumpers, the height is adjustable.

But if you live in a house or apartment that doesn’t have door frames, then these types of baby jumpers are not for you since they need to be attached to something.

P.S. Make sure to measure the height of your door frame since some older houses have pretty high frames that wouldn’t work with a baby jumper.

13. Jolly Jumper Exerciser with Door Clamp

This jolly jumper is simple and straightforward, just like its freestanding model.

The only difference is that it comes with a door clamp.

If you’re thinking about making an order though, you should get your measuring tape out first!

This jumper needs your wall to be no thicker than 6 inches and the flat top surface of the doorframe to be at least half an inch.

Even though it is a little pricier than the Graco, it’s made out of very high-quality materials and gives you a couple of minutes to fold the laundry or catch up on your emails while your baby is happily bouncing away.

14. Summer Pop ‘n Jump Portable Activity Center

Going to the beach or on a trip to your lakehouse? Or maybe just to the park?

This portable jumper will keep your munchkin entertained while you read a book or lounge in the sun.

Even though it’s made to be used on the go, it comes with a number of fun toys, such as a rattle and spinner ball (and you know how much babies love those), a teether, and a small toy mirror book.

Every time I go out in the sun with my kids, I have one thing on my mind – UV rays – and I’m sure you do, too.

Luckily, Summer Infant equipped this portable jumper with a canopy that protects against the sun.

If the seat gets dirty, you can always just put it in the washing machine, making clean up simple and easy.

And there is no assembly needed – you just pop it open and it’s ready to go.

Summer Pop ‘n Jump activity center is also really budget-friendly, so if you have a pricier jumper at home that’s not easy to transport, you can always add this to your portable baby gear collection.

Baby Jumper 101

After getting a baby walker and a playpen, you might be wondering why in the world you would need another piece of baby equipment.

For one, a lot of babies like to be carried and being stuck in a playpen is going to leave them cranky and crying out for your attention.

A walker, on the other hand, needs your attention at all times.

Babies are masters of doing things you didn’t think were possible for their age, so you cannot exactly put them in a walker and run to the laundry room to unload the dryer.

But in a jumper or activity station, babies can indulge in play and exercise while staying in one place, which is the most important part.

So if you need to respond to an important email, you can simply put your kiddo in their seat and let them play while you keep an eye on them and take a few minutes for yourself at the same time.

Not to mention that it helps kids get rid of excess energy and allows them to quickly settle in for a nap.

Sometimes all it takes is 15 minutes of bouncing around and – boom! – out like a light!

Meanwhile, babies also develop their leg muscles as they begin learning how to stand up and walk.

But there are different types of baby jumpers out there that you should be aware of before making a choice.

I’ll give you a really quick overview:

  • Doorway jumpers

These usually come with a clamp that you fix to the frame of your door.

They’re also lighter and more practical, but there are some serious safety issues to consider here (I’ll be getting to that soon!)

  • Freestanding jumpers

This type doesn’t need to be fixed to any specific spot in the house.

Since the seat is attached to a wider frame, you can move it around as you need to.

The frame is usually quite big, but the good news is that most freestanding models fold easily so you can store them away when your baby is not playing.

Colorful baby jumper for your little one

Freestanding jumpers also include models that look like baby walkers, minus the wheels, which tend to be the most popular option among parents – and with good reason.

They’re probably the safest option as well!

One of the most important factors when browsing for a jumper is its size and where you’re planning on keeping it in the house.

If you have extra room and purchasing a larger piece of baby equipment is not going to cause you to trip and fall over it, then you can definitely go for a bigger model.

But if you live in an apartment, for example, and you’re short on space, it’s worth taking a closer look at the dimensions.

Especially if you want to move the jumper from one room to another.

In this case, a model that can’t even fit through the door wouldn’t be a good match.

What’s more, most jumpers have a lifespan of about 6 months (unless you’re planning on adding more to the family!)

Babies grow fast, so you should ask yourself whether you’re willing to splurge on something that will only be in use for a couple of months.

RELATED: Baby Growth Spurts: What They Are And Tips To Deal With Them

Luckily, though, there are activity centers that can grow with your baby and can even be used when your child enters their toddler years.

On average, they are usually more expensive but great value for money if you consider how much fun your child can get out of them.

Safety first

Even though your baby loves bouncing around in their jumper and never wants to get out, jumpers are not something you would want to leave your baby in for very long periods of time.

But why?

Well, it turns out you can have too much of a good thing.

Spending a lot of time in their jumper can cause your kiddo to develop hip issues later on.

Also, the constant jumping and bouncing don’t develop the muscles in the same way other activities do.

All of the above means that your little munchkin shouldn’t be spending more than 10 to 15 minutes a day jumping up and down.

Cruising, for example, is much healthier for the development of a baby’s legs.

funny baby playing in baby jumper

Of course, this doesn’t mean you should throw your jumper out the window, but it does mean that your little one probably shouldn’t be spending hours bouncing around.

Doorway jumpers bring another set of problems.

Since babies aren’t limited as to how much they can jump, some might lose control and hit themselves against the door frame.

Or they might jump so high that the entire jumper falls off.

It also goes without saying that your child should be able to hold their head upright before getting into a baby jumper.

To sum up

So now that you’ve gotten all the essential information about baby jumpers, I hope you’re feeling ready to make the best choice for your baby!

With so many models available, I’ve tried to present you with only the best and most high-quality ones!

It doesn’t matter whether you’re more interested in a stationary or doorway model, what matters is that the jumper you pick fits yours and your baby’s needs to a T.

Also, don’t forget that no matter how much your little one loves to bounce around, they shouldn’t be spending hours playing in their jumper.

That could lead to health problems later on, so it’s best to limit use to a couple of minutes every day.

And if you decide to get a doorway model, you need to be extra careful, especially if your baby is very active and seems to jump higher up every day.

On the other hand, a jumper will bring lots of fun and joy to your little one, and you will get a couple of minutes of free time for yourself!

And I know very well how hard that can be to come by.
